This is incredibly nerdy, but funny if you get it
For those of you who don't know, on Unix-based systems, background/server programs (things like the web server, chat servers, etc.) are usually referred to as daemons (usually pronounced "dee-mons"). In addition, the actual program names for these daemons usually end in the letter "d," so that the webserver would be httpd (http being the web's protocol), a FTP server would be ftpd, an IRC server would be ircd, and so on.
Well, someone actually wrote a Tentacle Daemon: http://tentacled.sourceforge.net. Just what the tentacle daemon does (sadly, not severe rudeness upon Japanese schoolgirls :P ) doesn't really matter -- just the fact that it exists cracks me up.
