In honor of Xenogears being released to PSN... Oh, and there being a Xenogears panel at Anime Boston 2011.

The Overfiend Express has reached the end of the line

Sad but true, the time has come to replace the Overfiend Express. After spending about a grand over the past month or so on repairs, I've decided it's no longer worth keeping the ol' tentacle demon running (since the mechanic said I'll probably have a bunch of other things that are going to go in the next few months too, although it'll last long enough for me to replace it). I can't really say I have any real complaints -- it has served me well for nearly 8 years and 185,000 miles.

JRPGs are dead to me

This is very long, so I'm hiding it all behind a cut to spare you the pain.

TLDR versionCollapse )

Thoughts on Phantasy Star II

While this is mostly going to be on Phantasy Star II, just the nature of my thoughts here means I'll also be discussing Phantasy Star IV and the Final Fantasy series, somewhat. It will also delve into my history with all the Phantasy Star games and console gaming in general.

Long rambling followsCollapse )

Damn snow

I've come to the conclusion that all the snow in New England is due to Dark Force erecting a tower up here.

Yes, I've been playing Phantasy Star IV recently.

Never underestimate Ruby...

The Lunar: Middleground page has been updated!
Grahf
dmlou

In what could easily be a world record for time between page updates, I finally updated the Lunar: Middleground web page! According to the time stamps on the server, the last update was done on July 9, 1998! So I finally updated the silly page after 12 years!

So why the update? Well, basically, I wanted to post the Middleground Lost Logs zip file (link is direct to the zip file) based on all the old logs I found on my hard drive. The other updates to the site were mostly to announce the update, the existence and link to the lost logs, and to clean up some of the HTML to make it a bit more modern...

So if any of you are still in touch with any of the old Middleground players, please, give them a heads up as to the page update. I know it's a stretch after 12 years, but you never know. Thanks!

Update:It turns out this log pack probably was one etir gave me a long time ago. Still, it's got a lot of key stuff, including some key battles in it. It's also nice to finally get the pack online in a place where anyone can get it.

Lunar: Middleground logs

I haven't had a chance to look them all over, but while digging around on my computer I found something like 108 Lunar: Middleground log files. There seems to be no real rhyme or reason to the naming schemes and I have no idea what order they're in, but I may have found quite the treasure trove here. I may actually update the Lunar: Middleground home page for the first time in like 12 years!

Let's roleplay like it's 1999!

For those of you who enjoy playing IRC RPGs -- especially Lunar IRC RPGs back in the days of Middleground, Magic Empire, ASF1 and 2, etc., I give you this.

It's still in its very early planning stages, but I so want to GM this... I've caught the GMing bug again...

Oh hi, I forgot I had this LJ for a while...

I guess I should use it for more than just auto-forwarding my twitter posts.

Oh, and my puppy managed to run down and tackle a deer last week if you haven't heard already.
